Become a Developmental Therapist

Do you believe in holistic therapy to support the whole person? Are you a people-person with a warm and engaging style who enjoys interacting with others? Do you hold a degree in a relevant area such as child development, education or psychology?

This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with children, young people, and adults with developmental, behavioural, and neurological challenges. You’ll gain hands-on experience conducting developmental assessments, designing individualised therapy plans, and supporting families, whilst developing key skills in observation, communication, and understanding human behaviour and development. This role provides practical experience that can enhance your career prospects in mental health, social care, therapy, or other people-focused professions. The skills you develop here have been successfully used by previous employees to progress into careers in psychology, therapy, counselling and mental health.

After 53 year as a charity bibic is moving into a new phase of its history – we now offer support for children, young people and adults and have recently launched our Over 25’s Therapeutic services.

Demand is always there for our services and we are adapting to that need by supporting more families all over the UK.

Salary:            Training Salary Band 2 – £23,809.50 increasing to £24,309 after completion of training and probationary period (6 months).

One year post qualification – Band 3 – (Bands will be agreed for April 2026)

Holiday:         31 days inclusive of 3 mandatory days between Christmas and New Year and 8 bank holidays. Pro rata for part time hours.

Hours:            Full time – 37.5 per week

Base:               Mainly office based with some home working
