Diagnostic assessment for literacy

bibic is working in partnership with our associate, Heidi, to offer diagnostic literacy assessments. These assessments explore areas such as dyslexia and other literacy difficulties and may lead to a formal diagnosis where appropriate. They are available for children, young people, and adults aged 7 to 89.

“I can support you to understand each individual and their learning needs. Fully qualified to Master’s level, I am able to formally identify Dyslexia… I also assess for Exam Access Arrangements in line with the JCQ guidelines and complete the relevant forms…”

Assessment Process

Most diagnostic literacy assessments last around 2 hours. Whilst working with you or your child, there will be a variety of 5-10 minute activities and games that we will do. Some are academic but most of them aren’t. If you think that you or your child will struggle with any aspect of this, then please let Heidi know so she can prepare. Heidi might also chat to your child about why they are with her and what being dyslexic might mean to them.

After your assessment

After the assessment, Heidi will prepare your report and send it to the nominated keyworker within bibic. Once the report is completed your keyworker will email it to you and introduce themselves, and explain what is included in your keyworking period. The reports will be shared with you within 4 to 6 weeks of your assessment.
